Ok,
I just had an incident happen that may help in explaining.
Yesterday I traveled to North Carolina and had no issues receiving texts, phone calls from my wife at all. Coverage was great and I was on the road the entire time - no wifi.
I came home and my phone connected to the wi-fi and as I rested my wife went to pick run some errands. She called and I was able to talk to her
on my phone through the wi-fi - no issues. I later sent a text to her and got a reply.
This morning I ran to a local store to buy some dog-food and took my phone. When I got back my wife said "Oh didn't you get my text?" I replied I had not and checked my
phone - it still said "Wi Fi Calling" - No errors.
Three hours later I left the house again and tried to call my wife and even though the phone indicated it was calling it just stayed on the screen showing her contact information.
I shut the phone down, powered it on again and immediately her text from three hours earlier along with ANOTHER text from my niece asking a question.
So the issue stands - There is a problem handing off between the T-Mobile Cellular and Wi-Fi at times until the phone is rebooted.
